Born in Sydney, Australia, and raised in Portugal, Sandra developed an early appreciation for artistic expression and visual aesthetics. Alongside her creative interests, she pursued a distinguished career in dentistry, practising for nearly three decades. The discipline, precision, and attention to detail cultivated throughout those years continue to inform her artistic vision today.
Although photography had long been a passion, it was in 2019 that Sandra began dedicating herself seriously to the medium. Largely self-taught, she has developed her artistic voice through continuous study, experimentation, and a deep commitment to personal growth. What began as a creative pursuit gradually evolved into a profound means of expression and exploration.
Very recently, Sandra chose to step away from clinical practice to devote herself fully to photography and the creation of fine art. This transition marked a new chapter in her life, allowing her to focus entirely on developing a distinctive visual language shaped by emotion, light, and personal interpretation.
Her work has been featured in collaborative photographic publications, including Varanasi Eterna and Vision of the World, and has been presented in both solo and group exhibitions.
Today, Sandra’s artistic vision is expressed through a growing body of fine art collections. Her current focus is Pulse, an ongoing abstract series exploring the relationship between water, light, movement, and human emotion. While abstraction plays a significant role in her contemporary work, her photographic practice extends beyond a single genre, guided by a continuous exploration of beauty, emotion, and the invisible forces that shape our experience of the world.
